MacPGN is a program for viewing PGN (Portable Game Notation) text files and doing chess analyze. It has support for games that not starts from the originate board, EPD (Extended Position Description), FEN (Forsyth-Edwards Notation) if it is included in a PGN comment with a tag name of FEN.
If you don't want to start from the originate board, you can setup the pieces at any way you like, and start analyze from that position.
Click the appropriate button to move forward or backward. Auto move, moves
in the last selected direction. To do quick movements, click in the scroll box.
In Setup mode, you just drag the pieces onto the board. If you drag a piece from one place to another, it is copied. To get rid of a piece, command click it.
You can open files with max 10000 games, if you have larger files break
them up in smaller pieces. How many files and windows you can have open is memory dependent.
Menu File:
New:
Opens a new window.
Open:
Opens a listwindow containing the games in the choosed file.
Close:
Closes the frontmost window.
Save:
Saves the game in the frontmost window.
Merge:
Merges the game at the end of an existing file.
If the frontmost window is a listwindow and it contains selections
all the selected games are merged.
Quit:
As expected.

Roster:
Information about the game.
Setup:
Enter SetUp mode.
Preference:
Allow you to specify some options, you can specify delay for
auto moving, change the standard piece letter setting.

Places the windows in originate place
One entry for each window open follows.
Tips:
On slow macs like LC, you might want to turn your monitor in black & white
mode to speed up animation.
New in version 1.1:
It now runs native on PowerPC. A second scroll box has been added to view
and add move comments. The copy to clipboard button has been moved to
the Util menu. You can do multiple selections (Shift + click) in a
listwindow to open or merge the selected games.
